JM’s Agricultural Marketing, Inc. started in 1980 (former company name – JM’s Agromart, Inc.) and is the only company on record that has been in the shallot export business for 27 years.
Currently, the company is the second biggest shallot exporter of the philippines in terms of quantity but is ranked first in terms of quality by foreign buyers. The key to its staying power in the business is the company’s reputation for its strict quality control of the fresh shallots shipped to their foreign buyers. The company is committed to quality more than quantity.
Fresh shallot has always been its principal export product to Singapore, Hongkong, Malaysia and Indonesia (Jakarta and Surabaya) for the past 27 years. Based on the market demand of buyers, the company have been also into export of fresh green mango to HK and Singapore (1979-1981), dried squid and honey dew to Singapore (1979-1981) and fresh ginger to Singapore from 2003.to the present.
It currently supplies 85% of Singapore’s shallot market. The company’s president, was able to compete all these years through his sharp analysis of the market demand for their products and the confidence and close relationships he was able to establish among his foreign buyers and local shallot growers/farmers. He is held in high esteem among the onion farmers in the Philippines with a reputation as a fair and trustworthy shallot trader.
